DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, WARREN COUNTY, OHIO – Deerfield Township is officially launching a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) at Deerfield Towne Center.

A DORA allows patrons 21 years of age and older to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating, permitted businesses in a designated cup then explore, sip, and shop within a defined area.

Section 4301.82 of the Ohio Revised Code authorizes townships with populations more than thirty-five thousand (35,000) to create DORAs up to three hundred twenty (320) contiguous acres or one-half square mile.

“Establishing a DORA is yet another tool to help promote the township as a destination for dining, retail, and entertainment,” said Deerfield Township Board of Trustees President Kristin Malhotra. “We are excited to offer this as an opportunity to bring in more business for our retailers and an entertainment option for our community.”

Deerfield Towne Center is proud to partner with Deerfield Township on the creation of the DORA.

“We are excited to partner with Deerfield Township on the DORA initiative so we can continue to empower our retailers, engage our community and facilitate an energetic guest experience at Deerfield Towne Center,” said Billy Andrews, Senior General Manager, RPT Realty. “The partnership is an indication of the exciting atmosphere we work to cultivate at Deerfield Towne Center, and we look forward to DORA’s success here.”

The kick-off event, “Groovin’ in the Grove,” will take place from 6:00PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021. The event will feature live music from The Soul Pocket Band, as well as games and free donuts, while supplies last.

After June 4, the DORA will be in effect year-round during the following hours of operation:

  • Monday through Thursday - 6:00PM to Midnight
  • Friday through Sunday - 12:00PM (Noon) to Midnight
