Warren County Auditor, Matt Nolan, To Discuss Property Values With Real Estate Recovery

WARREN COUNTY PROPERTY VALUES INCREASING WITH REAL ESTATE RECOVERY, September 17, 2015
Warren County Auditor Matt Nolan is tasked with setting values for property tax purposes every three years. The residential real estate market in Warren County is recovering with strong sales in nearly every corner of the County, and as a result property values will be increasing across most of the County.
When property values increase, the biggest concern is property taxes. While taxes will rise they do not rise at the same rate as values. In addition to residential value increase we anticipate large increases in agricultural values for property in the CAUV program. We strongly encourage CAUV property owners to attend our joint session with the Farm Bureau on October 8 to learn more about the increases in CAUV values.
"Home values coming back are a great sign for our County," Auditor Nolan stated. "The residential real estate market is strong in Warren County and people are regaining a lot of the equity that they had in their home. The recent trends clearly show that people want to live, work and play in Warren County." Nolan added.
The County’s triennial update uses mass appraisal standards to assign values across the County. As a part of this process Auditor Nolan and his appraisal staff will be hosting meetings after business hours to discuss values with anyone that has concerns or questions. You can also call the Auditor’s office during business hours and discuss your property value at any time.
