Upcoming Winter Weather (2/1-2/4)

Upcoming Winter Weather for Wednesday through Friday (2/1 – 2/4)

Keeping Deerfield Township moving safely during the winter is our Service Department's primary goal. We ask residents to please park all cars in their driveway during this event; by removing cars from the street, snowplow truck drivers will clear the roads more efficiently and reduce the risk of property damage.

Township employees maintain 113.93 miles of roadway, consisting of primary and secondary streets. The upcoming forecast models appear to provide a challenging battle for crews over the next few days. The roads have a very high potential to be very slick due to the prediction of 0.6 inches of ice, including an additional 2-4 inches of snow; maneuvering the snowplow truck between two cars and even around vehicles has the potential to be very difficult. Rain before ice will not allow the crews to effectively pretreat roads, increasing the bond of the predicted precipitation and the road surface.

We ask for your patience as Deerfield Township crews focus their efforts on treating the Township's primary routes during this winter storm. Primary roads include some hills, bridges, main thoroughfares through subdivisions, and main roads such as Irwin Simson, Deerfield Blvd., and Kings Automall.
