Motorists Reminded of Restrictions For U.S. 22 Bridge Rehabilitation - Route to be closed over Little Miami River June 7

Ohio Department of Transportation

Warren County (Thursday, May 27, 2021) – With restrictions for a bridge rehabilitation on U.S. Route 22 in Warren County going into effect early next month, the Ohio Department of Transportation is reminding motorists of the potential impact the closure will have on local, county roadways.

U.S. 22 - the Fosters Viaduct - will be closed over the Little Miami River for up to 50 days beginning Monday, June 7, and while it is closed, the signed detour for thru-traffic will be by way of Columbia Road, Western Row Road, I-71 and S.R. 48.

However, motorists traveling Old 3C Highway and other local roadways are advised there may be lengthy traffic delays in the area during the typical high traffic periods.

Due to anticipated increased traffic volumes on Old 3C Highway and other routes, closures and lane restrictions will be implemented in order to improve capacity and safety along Old 3C while the U.S. 22 bridge is closed. These include:

  • The eastbound lane of Socialville-Fosters Road and the westbound lane of Fosters-Maineville Road will both be closed on their approach to Old 3C.
  • Left turns from Old 3C onto Socialville-Fosters Road and Fosters-Maineville Road will be prohibited.
  • The Little Miami Scenic Park Trail crossing at Old 3C will be closed.

In addition to following the signed detour, motorists are encouraged to select alternate routes whenever possible to avoid traffic backups and significant delays.
