Hamilton County (Wednesday, March 23, 2023) – The next phase of a pair of bridge rehabilitations over Interstate 71 is set to begin, with construction getting under way on Snider Road in northern Hamilton County early next month.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be repairing the overpass structure, which is situated just north of the I-71/I-275 interchange, by replacing the concrete parapets and vandal fencing and conducting other, minor bridge work.

Beginning Monday, April 3, Snider Road will be closed for up to 120 days, and while it is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of Kemper Road, U.S. 22/3, Mason-Montgomery Road and Fields-Ertel Road.

In addition to the Snider Road bridge, crews are rehabilitating the Cooper Road overpass, situated over I-71 immediately north of the S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway interchange. Cooper Road is closed through mid-May, and traffic is being detoured by way of Montgomery Road, S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway or Pfeiffer and Kenwood roads.

Traffic impacts on I-71 should be minimal at both overpasses; however, motorists are reminded to use additional caution when traveling through the work zones.

The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract for approximately $3.5 million to rehabilitate both structures, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late October.
